About Harriet
I create to connect what I see to something inside me. Layers, bright colors and textural elements are my starting points. My world is often colorful. Filling a spiritual need, I often look at my heritage and find ways of honoring our traditions.
Drawing came naturally to me as a child but when I discovered painting, I was hooked. It was teaching art and traveling that exposed me to the many cultures of the world and my understanding of art in context. It made me more familiar and understanding of people and receptive to new ideas. Hence, a better person. My body of art keeps growing to include botanicals, abstracts, contemporary landscapes and Judaic themed pieces.
The origin of my brand name happened this way: I was pregnant with my second child and asked my 4 year old daughter what we should call the new baby. She blurted out “LAMPPOST!” The name Lamppost, (not what we named our son ) stuck with me until 2021 when Lamppost Press was finally born with the encouragement of my wonderful family..
My original art, prints and designs display a wide range of style and genre. Browse through the catalogue to find affordable art which I hope you can connect with.
